Start with what the graphics need to do.
A van that only needs to show who you are and how to reach you is a very different job from a van designed to be noticed across a car park. Before asking for a price, decide what the graphics must achieve. The answer sets the coverage, and coverage is the biggest single influence on cost.
A price quoted without that context is hard to judge. Tell us the make, model, wheelbase and roof height of the van, the colour it is painted and roughly what you want on it. Side and rear photographs help even more, because they show the panels, handles, windows and pressings the design has to work around.
What our published supply-and-fit packages include.
For straightforward van lettering we publish three supply-and-fit packages, fitted within a 30-mile radius of our Norwich workshop. They are intended as a starting point for budgeting. The price for your particular van is confirmed by a quote once we know the vehicle and have seen your artwork.
Basic graphics, from £149 + VAT. Single-colour cut vinyl of your company name to the bonnet, both side panels and the rear, with your web address and phone number on the lower side panels and the bottom of the rear doors.
Standard graphics, from £210 + VAT. Everything in Basic, plus social media details, a second vinyl colour or a panel infill, and a cut or printed logo. The logo is subject to its complexity and to you having high-resolution files available.
Pro graphics, from £455 + VAT. Everything in Basic and Standard, plus design options over and above regular graphic placement (up to three ideas) and a large logo or graphic element on the rear quarters and rear.
These packages are built around lettering and logos applied to the van’s existing paint colour. They are not full printed wraps. A wrap involves far more material, printing and fitting time, varies widely between vehicles and is quoted individually. If you are weighing the two approaches, our van wrap vs part graphics comparison sets out the differences.
Supply only: fitting the graphics yourself.
If you are comfortable applying vinyl, or you are too far from Norwich for fitting to make sense, our online shop sells supply-only van graphics. Current shop prices start from £95 + VAT for Basic graphics on a small van, from £125 + VAT for Basic on a medium van, from £150 + VAT for Standard on a small van and from £225 + VAT for Standard on a medium van. There is also an online design builder on our van graphics page if you want to lay out your own design.
The saving is the fitting labour, and with it comes the responsibility for application. Vinyl needs a clean, dry, grease-free panel, a sensible temperature and patience with alignment. Be honest about the time and conditions you have before choosing self-fit purely on price.
What moves a quote up or down.
Van size and coverage. A long-wheelbase, high-roof van has more panel area than a small car-derived van, so the same layout needs more vinyl and more fitting time. Adding panels, such as the roof line, rear quarters or bonnet, increases both.
Cut or printed. Single-colour cut vinyl is the simplest route. Each extra colour is usually another layer to cut, weed and apply. Printed logos, gradients and photographs are produced on our 8-colour, 1440dpi printers and then cut to shape. We hold a large stock of coloured vinyl in-house, so a pre-coloured film is often the practical choice for solid lettering.
Panel shape. Ribbed panels, rivets, deep pressings and sliding-door channels take longer to work around and can affect which film is suitable. Our cast vs calendered vinyl guide explains why.
Old graphics. Removing existing vinyl adds time, and how long it takes is not always clear until the work starts. Older, sun-baked vinyl tends to come off in small pieces. Mention any existing graphics in your enquiry so they can be allowed for.
Extras. Chapter 8 rear chevrons, reflective materials, window graphics and matching graphics for a trailer all add to the job. Ask for them in the same quote so the layouts can be planned together.
Artwork is where hidden costs often sit.
The Standard package includes a cut or printed logo on the condition that you can supply high-resolution files. That condition matters. A logo saved from a social media profile or a website header is usually too small and too soft to scale up to the side of a van. It may need redrawing before it can be cut or printed cleanly, and that is design time.
Ask whoever designed your logo for the original vector file, often supplied as AI, EPS, SVG or a vector PDF. If that is not available, our in-house design department can recreate it or design from scratch, and we will work with your own design team if you have one. Settle wording and phone numbers before approving the proof.
Fitting, location and time off the road.
Our supply-and-fit packages cover a 30-mile radius of the Norwich workshop. If you are further out, you can bring the van to us, choose a posted self-install kit where the design is suitable, or ask for a quote for on-site fitting. Tell us your postcode at the start so the quote reflects the right option.
Time off the road is a real cost for a business that depends on its van. We have courtesy vehicles available while your van is with us, which is worth asking about when you book. Tell us about any recent paint repairs, as fresh paint can need time to cure before vinyl goes on.
How to compare van graphics quotes fairly.
When you have more than one quote, line them up against the same specification. Check which panels are covered, how many colours are included, whether the logo is cut or printed, which brand and type of vinyl is specified, whether fitting is included and where it happens, whether removal of old graphics is included, how many design revisions are allowed and whether the figure includes VAT. Our prices are always shown + VAT.
Differences between quotes usually sit in the material, the coverage or the fitting. We use 3M and Metamark films. Ask any supplier to name the product so you can compare like with like. Our blog post on comparing van graphics quotes and coverage goes into more detail.
Think about cost per year, not just the invoice.
Van graphics are semi-permanent. They can be updated, replaced or removed, and they will last up to 7 years if looked after correctly. Spread over the time you keep the van, a modest difference at the start becomes small. Our guide to graphics on leased vans covers that situation.
Illustrative example: a newly established electrician starts with Basic graphics on a white van, keeping the phone number on its own line. A year later the business adds a printed logo and a second colour without replacing the lettering already on the van. Another business might go straight to Pro so the rear carries a large logo from day one. The right budget follows the brief.
Your project checklist.
- Make, model, year, wheelbase and roof height of the van.
- Side, rear and front photographs, including any existing graphics.
- Your logo as a vector or high-resolution file, and the exact wording.
- Which package you are considering, or a sketch of what you want where.
- Your postcode and whether you want fitting, a posted kit or to visit us.
- Any date you are working towards and whether you need a courtesy vehicle.
Your questions. Answered.
Do your van graphics prices include VAT?
No. All of our published prices are shown + VAT and are “from” prices. The figure for your van is confirmed by a quote once we know the vehicle and have seen the artwork.
Does the Pro package include a full wrap?
No. Pro covers lettering, logos and extra design options, including a large logo or graphic element on the rear quarters and rear. Full and part wraps are quoted individually.
Can you fit the graphics if I am more than 30 miles from Norwich?
The packages are fitted within a 30-mile radius. Further out, you can bring the van to our Norwich workshop, choose a posted self-install kit where suitable, or ask us to quote for on-site fitting.
I only have my logo as a JPEG. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily, but a small or low-resolution image may need redrawing before it can be cut or printed cleanly. Send what you have and we will tell you whether it can be used as supplied.
Can I get a price from photographs?
Yes, photographs with the make and model are enough for an initial price. The quote is confirmed once the final layout and artwork are agreed.
